Prior to 2010 I would wear high heals, have my nails done, my hair colored on a regular bases and I would enjoy beer and wine when I could. I had children who loved fast food and pizza and would indulge with them. I did join a gym for a few years prior to 2010 and would take step classes, and the occasional spin and weight class (but always classes nothing solo). I hated my life and never knew the way out. I was more concerned about how I would make it then how much happier I would be.
Long story short things happen for a reason. I was laid off from my job in 2007 (I think that was the year). I had just signed up for night classes to go back to school and decided to change them to day classes. I went to nail school got my license and took my pre-required classes to start acquiring my AS Degree. I worked and went to school full time. As I realized that only part of my life was changing I had made an agreement with myself that after school was over I would complete my transformation. I needed a divorce.
Today I am the happiest I have ever been. Shortly after graduating I had started to run in 2009 had to take a year off until 2010 and have not stopped since. In fact added biking and swimming to it in 2012. I married my husband who also does these activities in 2013. I may not do my hair on a regular bases, wear high heals, put makeup on or have a drink after work. However, I am the happiest I have ever been. I am married to the love of my life and even though my house and car are falling apart I could not be happier. And on a side note, my husband does not care if I do my hair or make up. I wear more workout clothes than dress clothes these days and would not change it for anything. Happiness is what matters.
