long run sunday
It has been a few weeks since I have ran more than 6 miles on my runs. With Shaun's race last weekend it made things a little difficult to get the long run it. With that said I tried to keep on the schedule for our upcoming 140.6 yesterday was suppose to be a 4 hour bike ride and today was a 13 mile run. I did a 3 hour bike ride and I did do the 13 mile run. Actually I did 13.12 in honor of my friend who ran her first 1/2 last night at the Disney Wine and Dine. So proud of her. Plus we have many friends racing today in either 1/2s, full or tris so I thought it would make me feel included lol. Anyway it was rough. I trudge through it but still having issues with shoes. I have got to figure this out. I think my bike shoes are too tight and I need new ones and I think my running shoes are too loose. I have found a new pair of brooks I want to try that are like the newtons without the luges. I am just glad I completed my run. I know I have a 70.3 in me now if I could just get the 140.6 back in me. I have some time. Next saturday Court and I are doing the run or dye - a first for me. So I will have to run my long run 9 miles possible friday am. then Bike the 4 hours I was suppose to ride Sunday. ( I flipped my weeks on the bike) Now off to do mom and wife things oh and possibly a trip back to the run shoppe love that place.

Been busy
It has been a while since I have written anything. Thought I should get back to it. I have still been training and being a mom. Trying to get through these teenage years that are killing me. That, training and working a full time job seems to keep me busy and constantly juggling things. My husband just ran IMFL with some of our friends and his team. I have to say this experience has put yet another outlook on triathlons and some triathletes. At mile 10 of the bike someone ran into him on the course by cutting him off. They were drafting... long story short - this is one of the major reasons I am against drafting. Not to mention it is illegal in triathlon races. Why is it there is never an official around when there are 15 or more people drafting. I do not care how slow I am I am not going to put myself or my bike in danger nor do I need to risk a 4 minute penalty. What really blows my mind is that this is an individual sport so you are suppose to do the same work that everyone else is doing on your own with no help. I am just sick to my stomach when I think about it. With that said I also want to eventually do a sanctioned IM event. Just not sure which one or when. I only want to do one to say I have other than that I am not sure I will continue to do them. I like the HITS series and the BTB and may just stick with them. The races are a bit expensive to begin with. So if you are gonna spend that much money you should be happy with them.
When we got back from Panama City I started to look at my training a bit different. Not sure why but I have. It seems to be working for me too. I did two one hour swims and felt great. I went out on the bike today not wanting to go out (because I thought it was going to be tough) and came back sooner than what was on the schedule but was ok with that. I have not been on my bike for that long in a while due to the trip and stuff. I have started riding during the week on the trainer but on my bike now and that may have helped.
Trying to make things easier and be more positive.
